Version 4 of Game Maker is not compatible with earlier versions. So if you want to edit games created with previous versions or play them (if the are not stand-alone) you cannot use version 4. For those situations you can download the previous version 3.3 here. Note that this version is no longer supported.

Game Maker version 3.3 (3.1 MB)
There are also two useful support programs for version 3 that have beeen integrated in version4:
Image Maker version 3.0 (0.9 MB)
Background Maker version 1.0 (1.0 MB)

To help you design games in version 3.3 there is a lesson to make a maze game and a questions and answers list. Please note that these apply to version 3.3 only!
